unit 2: Describing Motion
In unit 2, we will describe motion graphically and mathematically. We will learn new vocabulary words including position, distance, displacement, speed, velocity, and acceleration. Students will be able to graph motion, describe motion, and solve for velocity and acceleration.
Standards
U2.1
I can correctly use and apply the terms position, distance, and displacement.
U2.2 I can correctly use and apply the terms speed and velocity.
U2.3 I can explain the differences between a constant velocity and constant acceleration.
U2.4 I can make and use position vs. time graphs, velocity vs. time graphs, and descriptions of motion.
U2.5 I can use given information to solve quantitative problems.
Students will be tested on standards U2.4 and U2.5.
