## unit 1: Measurement & Matter

In this introductory unit we will be studying measurement and matter. The skills in this unit will be essential to ensure student success throughout the remainder of the course.

## unit 1 - Standards

MM 1 – I can find and distinguish between the mass and volume of an object.

MM 2 – I can state and apply the law of conservation of mass.

MM 3 – I can graph the mass and volume of a material, use the graph to write a science equation, and describe what its slope means.

MM 4 – I can describe density and apply its meaning to solve problems.

MM 5 – I can draw accurate particle diagrams for the states of matter.

MM 6 – I can use dimensional analysis to convert between units.
